STEC USA Participates in National MFG Day 2019 – Inspiring Our Future Workforce

On Friday, October 4th, STEC USA participated for the first time in National Manufacturing Day. What is MFG Day? A presidential decree established Manufacturing Day in 2014 to encourage students to explore careers in manufacturing. The idea was to provide our youth a hands-on look at manufacturing plant functions and to give them the opportunity to meet professionals with a wide range of job titles, educational backgrounds, job duties and skills.

In Oakland County alone, a record 1,300 high school students from the four Oakland Schools Technical Campuses and 25 county high schools visited 50 companies throughout the County. There were over 180 events throughout the state and over 2500 around the country!

The 14 students who visited STEC USA were given a tour of our Madison Heights Facility and got up close and personal with all major functions including Testing and Validation, Engineering, Quality, Production and Logistics. They were exposed to careers they never knew existed and receive tips on educational requirements, internships, and entry-level jobs.  The STEC USA Team was happy to share our facility, knowledge and personal experiences with local students pursuing careers in manufacturing and skilled trades.
